Our body tends to grow new hair replacing the lost hair but this may not work for everyone. Hair growth depends on various factors like age, health, genetics, and diet. We have no control over Age and Genetics but we can improve our diet certainly.

Diet:

  • Vitamin A: Vitamin A or Retinol is mainly responsible for hair health. It helps in the secretion of sebum which prevents hair breakage. Add foods to your plate rich in Vitamin A as they keep your scalp healthier and retain more hairs. Some good sources of Vitamin A are broccoli, spinach, sweet potatoes, and carrots.

  • Protein: Keratin is a fibrous structural protein that makes up our hair. Consuming protein-rich food helps in the synthesis of keratin needed for your hair.   • Apply Olive Oil: Olive oil has shown the potential to fight against hair loss. It’s antioxidant qualities help in slowing down the effects of hair loss. The antibacterial property of Olive oil keeps the scalp healthy. It protects your hair to become dry which results in less breakage. Apply a couple of tablespoons of olive oil directly to your scalp, keep it for an hour and wash it.

Home Remedies:

  • Onion Juice: You may make faces by reading Onion as a remedy for hair loss. But, onion juice consists of Sulphur which prevents your hair from thinning. Onion juice nourishes hair follicles and regenerates healthy hair. You can try this at home also. Blend the pieces of onion to take out the juice. Filter it so that no chunks are left in the juice. Give your scalp a good massage in a circular motion and let it sit for an hour. Rinse it with a mild shampoo and repeat this every week.
  • Try out Yoga: If stress is the reason for your hair fall then yoga can do many wonders for your hair. Several yoga poses can be tried out to help with numerous hair problems. Yoga not only control hair fall but it also helps in inducing hair growth. Try out poses like Head Stand, Thunderbolt, Downward facing dog Pose, Shoulder Stand, Back Bending camel pose which helps in good blood flow in your head making your hair more strong.

Medications:

  • Minoxidil: Minoxidil is a medication that is applied to the scalp for stimulating the new hair growth for the people experiencing hair loss. Minoxidil works by increasing the blood flow to the hair promoting hair growth. Apply the liquid on your scalp every day as directed by your dermatologist. Increased density and thickened hair can be observed by applying Minoxidil regularly.
  • Finasteride: Finasteride is a medication used to treat hair loss problems in both men and women. The prescription pill prescribed by your dermatologist may help to slow down hair loss and promote new growth. Women who are or who may become pregnant should avoid this medication.
